Colorado Local Sales Tax Rate Changes Effective January 1, 2020

by | Dec 31, 2019 | Sales Tax Tips | 0 comments

The Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR) has posted a list of Colorado local Sales Tax rate changes effective January 1, 2020.  Local rate changes in Colorado generally occur in January and in July.  The Colorado DOR posts a list on form DR1002. The DR1002 includes a list of the State-collected counties, cities and special districts and their rates.  The DR1002 also includes a list of all self-collecting Colorado Home-Rule Cities and their rates.

Notes:

  • Castle Pines has opted for self-colleting home-rule status as of January 1, 2020 so they are no longer a State-collected local jurisdiction.
  • Home-Rule Cities have their own licensing requirements and tax laws that can and often do differ from the State and from each other.
  • Be sure the Dr1002 form you find is current since many older version are posted in the internet. The DR1002 for the first half of 2020 isn’t yet posted as of 12/31/19 so use the link to the list of local changes referenced above.
