Avoid Late Payment Penalties!
When filing a Colorado sales tax return and paying by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), the payment must be made before 4PM Mountain Time:
From the Colorado Sales Tax Guide (v. June 2019):
“Payments made by EFT must be made on or before 4:00 P.M. Mountain Time on the due date of the tax
payment in order to be treated as paid on that day. Payments made after 4:00 P.M. Mountain Time are considered to be made on the following day. Payments made on a weekend or legal holiday are treated as paid before 4:00 P.M. of the next business day.”

If paying by e-check, the deadline may still be 4PM Mountain Time.
Monthly, quarterly and annual filers must file their sales tax returns and remit all applicable tax by the 20th of the month after the close of the tax period.
Returns mailed with payment are considered on-time if postmarked on or before the due date. If the 20th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the retailer’s return and tax remittance is due
the next business day.
