All Colorado sales tax licenses issued in 2018 and 2019 expired on December 31, 2019.
Renewal licenses will be valid for a two-year period that beginning January 1, 2020. Each physical location must have its own license.
Even if you just recently received a sales tax license, a renewal for the new two-year period is still required.
NOTE: Colorado made significant changes effective June 1st, 2019. Colorado now requires collection and remittance of sales tax for all state-collected local jurisdictions state-wide unless your under the $100,000 small seller exemption.
Nonphysical location “Branch” or “Site” IDs are required to accomplish reporting sales to customers in areas different than your physical location.
Complying with the Colorado Department of Revenue requirements is difficult and the laws and regulations are complex. The 70+ home-rule cities add far greater complexity.
